Sustainability policy

Norfolk Pro Build recognises that the construction industry can have an impact on the environment, and we take our sustainability responsibilities very seriously. We are committed to the reducing the impact that we as a business and as individuals make to the environment and to find new ways in which to do so.

• We use best practise to protect the natural environment
• promote responsibility for the environment within the organisation and communicate and implement this policy at all levels within the workforce
• Reduce the use of energy, water and other resources
• We recycle, re-use and repurpose as much as possible to reduce waste both in the office and on site and provide ways and means to do this
• Staff monitor their energy usage, ensuring all technology is powered-off outside of opening hours or in-between use.
• We use low-energy appliances wherever available.
• New technology purchases are only made when considered necessary.
• We source paper only from sustainable sources and keep printing to an absolute minimum.
• We purchased in bulk, when possible, to minimise packaging and deliveries.
• When possible, we will avoid unnecessary travel by making use of audio and video conferencing communications.
• We use low impact transport where possible, choosing the most efficient and practical option at all times.
• We seek to reduce less journeys by combining errands and deliveries.
• We encourage lift shares to work with staff and contractors.
• We strive to use local labour and suppliers whenever possible to reduce our carbon footprint and support growth of the local community.
• Our preference is to source locally produced materials.
• We chose and purchase materials and products with a lower environmental impact whenever possible.
• We endeavour to build relationships with ethical organisations whose values and approach to work are like ours.
• We are building high quality properties to add value within the local community.
• We are setting a good example in our industry.
• We provide employment to local labour, and provide opportunities to develop skills locally to benefit the community and reduce travel.
• We comply with all equal opportunity laws and regulations.
• Actively promote and encourage energy efficiency in our projects with architects, clients, staff and contractors, by way of process, materials and products.
• Research, seek and promote technical innovation in all aspects of our work.
